It is important that you have faith and you keep it in tact no matter what happens. Having faith, like praying or wishing for something, does not guarantee anything. You may or may not receive what you need and want. Yet it shouldn’t have any effect on your level of faith. If you keep it in general, just having a positive mindset about everything, then you can’t lose.
It is a lot like the opposite meaning of the expression that ‘you can’t fail unless you quit’. Think about it. As long as you are still trying, nobody can say you quit. You don’t need to feel that you failed. Remember we are all individuals and different. We each learn in our own way and take as much time as we need.
The harder you try the more momentum you have, because while you are trying you are actually learning and practicing and someday you will actually achieve your goal.
So in many ways having faith is essential no matter what you are trying to accomplish. Think of having none. How could you carry on without faith? If you had no faith you would just throw up your hands and say “I can’t”. However, since there is no ‘can’t’, what you must mean is you ‘won’t’. You will find someday that you can never give up as long as you have faith.
Being alive, you will likely think of lots of ideas as time goes by, and when the time and place are just right, maybe that will be the right time for you. The point is to keep an open mind and to believe that at any time you could come up with something that is notable!
You might exclaim that it is profit! Certainly that is the object and does indicate whether or not the business is successful. However what all determines if the business even gets to that point? Some of the main components of success beyond the obvious things like a good product are mindset, focus and presentation.
There is really a lot to be said for the ‘spirit’ of things. This has to do with mindset and extends to the environment in the business. Is it bright and shiny? Or is it dark and dubious most days? It is obvious that if the atmosphere is one of positivity and hopefulness that it will carry the business a lot farther than if someone is skeptical and just has a negative attitude. This can be about the time, money or duties required to conduct the business.
A positive mindset is so important that steps should be taken to create a positive atmosphere no matter what is happening or not happening. Remember wherever you are focused, that is where you will likely end up. That is why it is so important that you force yourself to be in ‘a good mood’ about your life in general as well as your business. Do not allow yourself to get off into self-pity or create reasons that you know you will fail.
You can accomplish this positive mindset by doing mental exercises whenever you feel a dark cloud hovering over you. Truly know and believe that you can succeed. Do not look at what you can see, but look at what you might not be able to see YET. Focus on what you HOPE to attain and believe that you can accomplish it. Keep telling yourself about that over and over until you actually believe it.
Here is where it is important to keep your goals realistic. Certainly somebody who tells themselves they know they can make a million by Friday is going to be sorely disappointed. Keep it real. Give yourself goals that you can actually accomplish. Don’t be afraid to under-estimate. You can increase your goal each time you accomplish a benchmark.
Another very important component of having a successful business is to be focused on the tasks at hand. It can’t be a half-way thing where you kinda, sorta pay attention to business. Treat your business just like you would a job where you are accountable to someone. In fact you want to be the type of person who ‘exceeds expectations’ – don’t just do enough to get by but do more any time you have an extra 5-minutes to invest in your business. Learn what ‘proactive’ means and go there often.
People seem to really want to believe in magic. They truly in many cases expect to see results without really doing much work. They start right out after a few weeks and already they are discouraged. Even though they know darn well they have invested very little effort, they wonder why they don’t see results. Then they start the ‘woe is me’ routine.
This does absolutely nothing to help your business and actually has the opposite effect. It zaps your motivation and you start really dragging your feet on doing anything differently or in greater volume which is what is necessary if you don’t see results. You are told not to get discouraged and to keep doing the work that is required to develop a business. This may give you a small ‘shot in the arm’ and you go on for another few weeks.
Then it is back again to ‘woe is me’ and this time you can recite a whole litany of the things you have done to promote your business but which have not produced results instantly. You may be starting to get skeptical as well as discouraged by this time. I mean who wouldn’t when you have invested a whole month of your life including a few hours of actual work.
Beyond this point if you are still not seeing anything (completely normal and usual) – your discouragement and skepticism has now spawned your hostility and you begin to make unfortunate remarks about your programs. Unfortunate because you will never sell something you don’t believe in and you have allowed being in a big unrealistic rush to completely ruin your mindset.
Your options at this point are to quit and get a job where you will see the money in a reasonable amount of time and know exactly how much and by when. Or you could always try to change your mindset to something realistic so that you could continue to develop an online home business long enough for your efforts to succeed.
Stop comparing yourself to people who have worked very hard for years to see substantial results. You haven’t yet so that is why they see it and you don’t. It’s not because they are liars. Stop thinking that you will somehow be different and will do this by osmosis.
Realize that if you have training available you probably need to take advantage of it. Not just so you know what to do, (which couldn’t be more critical) but as it will represent some structure and positivity with regard to starting a business.
Do not waste your precious time and energy on whining and doubt. Either get your head together with the right attitude to do this or just don’t do it at all. It’s very simple.
