Work at Home Alliances and Collaboration

For the most part people who work at home online to develop their business work alone. However there are other times for various reasons that you will hope for and find someone to work with you.

get together

This situation could arise because your sales are slacking off and you could really use a ‘joint venture’ with someone. A joint venture often can be as simple as giving someone the incentive to allow you to send your advertising to their list. You may offer them a percentage of sales that come through this arrangement.

Another example of a joint venture could be offering something tangible such as a discounted product or service when sales are generated directly from the response to the above mentioned eMail campaign. This can actually be worth some money in that you would keep the root cost and just omit the extra charges you may have been charging for this product.

Perhaps the most important alliance you can have is one where you really need to be rescued from obscurity. You need to step up. If you have built friendships and alliances when there was no agenda, people will not feel unduly exploited. Now there is an opportunity to propose collaborating on a project that may actually amount to ‘Join my program and I will join yours at a discount.’

So while you may be alone online or ‘home alone’ you should always be networking to build relationships. Aside of the pleasure and benefit of having real friendships maybe through Live Chat clients like Skype.com, business forums, and/or social networks, you may actually create your own network of like-minded people who work at home too.

There Is so Much Good On the Internet

Really when you stop and take stock of the vast sea of information that is available to everyone online, you will find there is a huge amount of good there. Yes, like anything and anywhere else there are also evil and weirdos. It is really up to those who believe in the good that we make it stronger and more prevalent than the bad. We should be Warriors for the Good!

Be Aware

In fact sometimes even the bad can be used for good for example with social media and being able to expose our enemies and their nefarious activities. Ban them? No because ever hear the saying it is best to ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer?’ Someday all the filth will be gone but it may be a long time from now so we have to learn to exist without becoming a victim in any way – whether by fraud or worse.

The Internet is already building quite a negative reputation with and without good reason –without good reason particularly with those who don’t know any better – it is always the blind that judge — always the ignorant. However some professional people who work on the Internet for years and truly love the online world, will not display images, etc. or any personal information to social networks. It may seem over the top, and in fact it would be better for careers and social life if this were not the case. However safety should always be the first concern. Don’t be naïve and a blind follower because it is a fad. Dumb.Dumb and Dumb.

The more you watch programs like Investigation Discovery and their ‘Web of Lies’, time and again you will see true stories about people who are in denial about the danger, and get ripped off all the way to their very lives. So it seems like where there is smoke there is fire. The silliest thing in the world is to let people know where you live, where your relatives are and then be a real imbecile announcing to Aunt Minnie that you are ‘going to Walmart now’ – so stalkers know your house is empty and they know they can hijack you, your car, your kids or even Aunt Minnie. Make up a name and location? The stalkers do it, why not potential victims to protect themselves?

But anyway that is a matter of opinion and degree. You can be careful without being obsessive about it. However, the worse risk I see are those poor folks young and old that are desperate for attention. They are the most vulnerable and the most likely to make a fatal mistake. Even with money if you get desperate you are more likely to make a bad decision. Think before you act. Seriously think for a while before you take any action and think about it with an open mind – both positive and negative perspectives. Keep it real.

This is where it comes in that we should build solid, honest, legitimate businesses online to counter-balance all the scams. Do your part and build something you can be proud of and maybe even hand down to your kids. You never know how much money you can make honestly. It can only help you if you help build up the reputation of the Internet and the businesses conducted there. Get started now to show people how to accomplish their dreams and avoid their nightmares.

The First Internet Marketing Social Networks – Business Opportunity Forums

Long before Web2.0 and the advent of social networks, one of the best places to network on the Internet was business forums. What is more, in spite of the huge surge in social networking sites, a forum is still more conducive to a focused group discussion.

first social nets = forums

When someone starts a topic or thread in a business forum, with either a question or an observation, this will likely generate a conversation. This conversation can be very informative because people can see both the question and the answer and at the same time see feedback/opinions. The discussion can also get very lively as each person who participates in the thread adds his or her feedback and so on.

A business opportunity forum is still a great place to network and meet people online. You have something in common with them, as far as they are also participating in and promoting business opportunities in your niche and others. Many important alliances can be formed over time through the forum format because of the open and public atmosphere.

These alliances may just be on the level of eventually, discreetly approaching someone to join a program you really like (read: discreetly). Most ideally the alliance may eventually result in joint venture projects. A joint venture is often where business promoters can offer others some benefit or percentage of sales in exchange for promoting a product to their list for you. Another example of a possible joint venture opportunity may be for a developer to partner with a marketer. This can really be a magical alliance that greatly benefits everyone concerned because it gives everybody something they need but don’t have yet.

You may also find that some business forums have sub-forums where they may for example have classified advertising for services that involve marketing, ghostwriting, website development or technical support. If you have been fortunate enough to build relationships in the forum, it will be easier to sell something to people that respect you as a person and trust you enough to pay you for a service that they need. This is versus some anonymous name and number posted on a board.

On a business forum that gets lots of traffic, it is amazing how fast the links are indexed by search engines for all the world to see. It’s actually pretty amazing sometimes. This is not to say that you should ever start posting in a forum just to get your links indexed which is something like being a spammer. You won’t be very popular for long if this becomes obvious, all the way up to and including losing the privilege of having a signature.

However if you actually have value to add to the forum then by all means be sure to add your domain URL in your signature file so that it posts each time you add a comment or start a conversation. Usually affiliate links are not allowed because of ‘too much too soon’ but your own blog or domain would be perfect.
